Nicolas Simon’s robotics startup, Wandercraft, aims to help individuals with mobility challenges, such as those with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, walk again. The company’s Personal Exoskeleton, powered by AI, is in clinical trials and enables users to stand and walk with joystick control. Wandercraft is leveraging NVIDIA technologies to enhance its exoskeletons.
Wandercraft’s Atalante X exoskeleton is FDA-cleared and used for neurological rehabilitation worldwide. The company’s latest device, the Personal Exoskeleton, is in clinical trials in New York and New Jersey, integrating AI for real-time movement adaptation. Wandercraft is exploring NVIDIA Isaac Sim and reinforcement learning to accelerate its robotics development.
The Personal Exoskeleton by Wandercraft could improve users’ mobility and reduce health impacts of prolonged sitting. By utilizing NVIDIA’s physical AI training and simulation systems, Wandercraft aims to create advanced robotics solutions for users worldwide. The company plans to apply for FDA clearance for the Personal Exoskeleton post clinical trials, with the goal of Medicare coverage for U.S. wheelchair users.
