Warren Buffet to step down as Berkshire Hathaway CEO, Greg Abel named successor

Warren Buffett, 94, announced that he will step down as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway by the end of 2025. He recommended Vice Chairman Greg Abel, 62, as his successor during the annual shareholders meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. Abel has been with the company for 25 years and was identified as Buffett’s likely replacement in 2021. Despite initially planning to work indefinitely, Buffett has now confirmed his decision to step down. He remains in good health but now uses a cane.
