Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CDNS) saw a 10.67 percent drop in share prices on Wednesday, closing at $288.61 per share. Reports of a US government order for Cadence to halt software sales to China caused investor concern.
The Commerce Department reportedly directed Cadence, Synopsis, and Siemens EDA to cease sales to China. Synopsis denied receiving any such directive from the government. China was the fourth-largest market for Cadence, accounting for 11% of its revenue in Q1.
