Yellow Nets $14M in Terminal Sales, Sets Up Saia to Further Expand US Footprint

Yellow Corp. is selling 10 more terminals, generating $14.25 million in private sales. Saia, a rival, acquired 3 terminals for $6.5 million. Judge Craig Goldblatt to review amended agreements on May 29. Saia operates 213 terminals, with revenue growth in newer markets. Bankruptcy court approved sale of 7 terminals to new buyers.
Moon Star Express bought a 80-door terminal for $10 million. Remaining deals were smaller. Gale Group, Baldor, Northland Towing, and others acquired terminals. Trucking firms like Knight-Swift and TFI International also bought terminals. Yellow has sold over 180 terminals for $2.2 billion since late 2023. Roughly 79 terminals remain under its estate.
Yellow filed for bankruptcy in August 2023. Agreed on amended Chapter 11 plan to reduce billions in claim amounts. Largest shareholder hasn’t backed deal. Hedge fund MFN Partners seeks Chapter 7 liquidation. Yellow spent $10.9 million in fees in March and April. Bankruptcy process held up for nearly two years.
