The second quarter of 2025 saw U.S. equity markets experience sharp volatility due to President Trump’s tariff measures and geopolitical tensions. Despite this, the S&P 500 is near its all-time high, recovering from the brink of a bear market just two months ago.

The Nasdaq Composite Index outperformed in the past three months, surging 13.3% compared to the S&P 500’s 10% gain and the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s 4.3% rise. Tech stocks like NVIDIA and Microsoft led the charge, with the Nasdaq 100 hitting a new all-time high.

President Trump’s aggressive tariff policy has reached a 90-year high, but recent deals with the UK and a truce with China have eased investor concerns. Optimism also grows from potential de-escalation in the Israel-Iran conflict, reducing risk-off positioning and supporting market rebound.

In the second quarter of 2025, top ETF performers included the Korea Defense Industry Index ETF, up 56.91%, and the First Trust SkyBridge Crypto Industry and Digital Economy ETF, up 54.30%. Increased demand for nuclear power and platinum, alongside tech growth, drove these gains.
