Warsh is a former Fed governor and has experience navigating the central bank. Waller, a current Fed governor, was the first to call for lower rates in July. Bessent, the Treasury Secretary, has not dismissed the possibility of becoming Fed chair. Malpass has been advocating for lower rates to boost growth. Hassett, the National Economic Council Director, has emphasized the need for rate cuts.
