Ahold Delhaize USA confirms 2.24 million people’s data exposed in a cyberattack on 5 November 2024. Sensitive information compromised includes names, Social Security numbers, health, and financial data. Ahold Delhaize detected unauthorized access on 6 November 2024, launching an investigation with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement. The breach ranks as the eighth-largest ransomware attack on a US company in 2024.

Employee records containing personal information may have been accessed. Ahold Delhaize operates brands like Food Lion and Stop & Shop with over 2,000 stores nationwide. The ransomware group Inc claimed responsibility for the breach, though it remains unverified. In Q1 of fiscal 2025, Ahold Delhaize reported net sales of €23.28bn ($26.41bn), marking a 5% increase at constant exchange rates.
