Airbus revises up 20-year jet demand forecast despite trade tensions

Airbus increases forecast for airplane demand over the next 20 years, expecting to deliver 43,420 commercial jets from 2025 to 2044, up 2% from previous forecast. Passenger jets to account for 42,450 planes, up 2%, and factory-built freighters to reach 970, up 3%. Despite trade tensions, air traffic growth projected at 3.6% annually.

Airbus remains optimistic amid geopolitical and trade uncertainties, with forecasts assuming base tariffs of 10% will remain. CEO calls for return to tariff-free trading for aerospace industry. Demand forecast for single-aisle planes raised by 2% to 34,250 over 20 years, with wide-body passenger jet deliveries increased by 3% to 8,200 planes.
