Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) plans to expand same-day and next-day Prime delivery services to over 4,000 smaller cities, towns, and rural areas in the US by 2025. The company aims to enhance its domestic footprint by investing over $4 billion in its rural delivery network by 2026, offering quicker shipments to drive consumer demand.
CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, Doug Herrington, highlighted the plan, emphasizing the importance of fast delivery for all customers, regardless of location. Amazon reports a 30% increase in items delivered the same or next day compared to last year, with everyday essentials growing more than twice as quickly as other categories.
