Amazon.com is set to invest $20 billion in Pennsylvania to expand data center infrastructure, highlighting Big Tech’s push into generative AI technology. This follows recent announcements of $10 billion investment in North Carolina and $5 billion in Taiwan. The project will create 1,250 high-skilled jobs and support thousands more in the supply chain. Salem Township and Falls Township are the first identified sites for future campuses. Amazon’s total capital expenditures were $25 billion in the first quarter. The company has not disclosed whether the $20 billion investment is part of existing plans or specified a timeframe for the investment.
