Moca Foundation launches Moca Chain for decentralized identity solutions with interoperability with Ethereum.
From Cointelegraph, June 25, 2025 9:02 am:
Moca Foundation has launched Moca Chain, a new layer-1 blockchain focusing on privacy-preserving identity and data authentication. The network will enable the development of identity protocols that allow individuals, devices, and AI agents to control and verify their credentials without centralized service providers. The testnet is expected in Q3 2025, with mainnet deployment in Q4.
Moca Chain will use the MOCA token for transaction fees, validator staking, storage, oracle services, data generation, and verification fees. The blockchain aims to allow verification of onchain and offchain user data by applications on any chain. The system will also utilize decentralized data storage and zero-knowledge transport layer security (ZK-TLS) for onchain verification.
Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands, a launch partner of Moca Foundation, highlighted the security vulnerabilities of single sign-on (SSO) systems. Moca Chain aims to give users decentralized ownership of their data to ensure digital identity sovereignty without a single point of failure. The blockchain is EVM-compatible for interoperability with Ethereum and its sister chains.
Moca Network’s AIR Kit, integrated into various partner offerings, including Animoca Brands’ portfolio companies, enables access to over 700 million addressable users. Data from AIR Kit-integrated systems will be available to protocols and applications built on Moca Chain. Partners include South Korean loyalty program OK Cashbag with over 28 million users and German football media company One Football with 200 million monthly active users.
