From GlobeNewswire: 2025-06-04 09:00:00
AnorTech Inc. has successfully completed the latest phase of its R&D program, focused on sustainable cement products using anorthosite from Greenland. The program by DTI in Copenhagen tested three product lines, including very low CO2 refractory cement and 3D printable anorthosite cement-based mortar formulations, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 90%.
Refactory cement testwork highlights include withstanding multiple heating cycles at 1,200 °C, maintaining compressive strength, and reaching post-treatment strength exceeding 25.0 MPa. The global refractory cement market reached USD $22.8 billion in 2023, projected to grow at a CAGR of 4.7% to reach an estimated USD $37.7 billion by 2034.
AnorTech’s President, Jim Cambon, expressed excitement about developing sustainable anorthosite-based technologies and leveraging proprietary knowledge. 3D printable cement testwork successfully determined optimal mixes for printability and structural buildability, showcasing potential for extraterrestrial construction using Lunar Highlands anorthosite materials. AnorTech is focused on advancing sustainable technologies derived from anorthosite and holds a 100% interest in the Gronne Bjerg anorthosite project in Greenland.
