Autonomous vehicle software startup Applied Intuition raises $600m in Series F funding, reaching a $15bn valuation. Founded in 2017, the company develops AI-powered software for autonomous vehicles. The funding round was co-led by BlackRock and Kleiner Perkins. Applied Intuition plans to use the funds for vehicle intelligence development, product expansion, and team growth.
Applied Intuition has achieved milestones since its $250m Series E round, including partnerships with OpenAI, TRATON, Isuzu, Porsche, and Audi. The company launched an off-road autonomy stack, acquired EpiSci, and introduced new products, Axion and Acuity. Additionally, Applied Intuition expanded globally with a new office in the UK.
BlackRock managing director Samir Menon praises Applied Intuition as an innovation leader in autonomous driving. Co-founder and CTO Peter Ludwig aims to accelerate software-defined systems across various domains with investor support. The company’s mission is to make all vehicles intelligent, with a focus on defense, automotive, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture.
