Finnish company Arctic Blue Beverages is forming a joint venture with a group of US investors, including former NHL star Teemu Selänne, to launch its ready-to-drink Long Drink brand in the US, starting in California. The venture will be jointly owned, with investors contributing $2-2.5m for market entry and growth.

The definitive agreements for the venture are expected to be finalized by the end of August, with commercial operations anticipated to start between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2026. Arctic Blue Beverages sees this partnership as a significant step in its international expansion strategy, with Teemu Selänne bringing credibility and experience to the project.

Arctic Blue Beverages introduced its Long Drinks line in Finland last year, which has shown strong market fit and brand traction. The Long Drinks range, made with Arctic Blue gin, offers four different varieties to consumers. Teemu Selänne expressed his belief in the company’s values and quality, excited to bring the unique Finnish experience to the US market.

The company’s full portfolio includes Arctic Blue Laku liquorice liqueur, Arctic Blue gin, and Arti Blue Oat, claimed to be the world’s first dairy-free gin-based oat liqueur. In addition to Finland, Arctic Blue Beverages also sells its products in markets such as Sweden, Japan, and Australia. The partnership with the US consortium marks a significant milestone in the company’s global expansion efforts.
