Artists and designers are utilizing AI technology at the NVIDIA GTC Paris Gallery to bring creative visions to life. The gallery will feature genre-challenging artwork and fashion designs, showcasing the future of creative expression through human imagination and machine learning. The event takes place June 10-12 at VivaTech in Paris.
French artist aurèce vettier is one of seven exhibitors at the NVIDIA GTC Paris event, presenting artwork created with AI. His pieces imagine speculative vegetal and animal forms against a visual and spatial context derived from dreams, showcasing the capabilities of generative AI models trained on personal data.
Linda Dounia Rebeiz, a Senegalese artist, embarked on a multiyear project called “Once Upon a Garden” to document extinct flora from the Sahel region of West Africa using AI technology. The project serves as a speculative archive and explores the uneven representation of certain contexts in AI training datasets.
Entangled Others Studio’s project “Self-Contained” delves into encoding visual information through AI and DNA, exploring the mutability of the present. The project harnesses NVIDIA GPUs and StyleGAN2 model to transform complex data into captivating visual narratives and physical sculptures.
Fuse*, a multidisciplinary art studio, uses AI technology to convey complex scientific concepts through artistic production. Their work “Onirica” attempts to shape dreams through visual representations created by a text-to-image diffusion model trained on neurological datasets, exploring the interplay between control and unpredictability in art creation.
Jeroen van der Most’s “Vegetable Vendetta” project uses AI to empower smaller players in the food sector by creating haute couture campaigns for staple vegetables like potatoes. The project juxtaposes high fashion with humble produce to interrogate advertising clichés and human desires.
The GTC Paris exhibition will feature innovative installations from leading fashion institutions, showcasing the role of AI in the future of fashion design and campaigns. Students’ work from Institut Français de la Mode and the Fashion Innovation Agency will offer insights into AI’s impact on conceptual exploration in fashion.
