Balfour Beatty Wins GBP 833 Mln Contract For World-First Net Zero Teesside Power Project

Balfour Beatty has been awarded an 833 million pounds contract from Technip Energies to construct the Net Zero Teesside Power project. This project aims to become the world’s first gas-fired power station with integrated carbon capture and storage. The power station will have a combined cycle gas-powered generation plant and a post combustion carbon capture system that can capture up to two million tonnes of CO2 per year. Once completed, the power station is expected to produce up to 742 megawatts of low-carbon power, supporting the UK’s transition to a cleaner energy future.
