Bitcoin Rules for Now, but the Crypto Landscape Is Vast

Investors are flocking to spot Bitcoin ETFs, with $9.6 billion in inflows from April 21 to May 27. As Bitcoin hits all-time highs, advisors are urged to broaden their focus beyond just Bitcoin, given the crypto space’s $3 trillion capitalization.

iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) leads the charge, amassing $8.7 billion in the past five weeks, nearly 80% of its total inflows for the year. Advisors are increasingly comfortable with Bitcoin and ETFs tracking it, with many clients allocating 5-10% to Bitcoin.

While Bitcoin and IBIT dominate, advisors are encouraged to consider stablecoins and avoid meme coins. Harvey predicts a future where all assets are tokenized. As economic uncertainty looms, some view Bitcoin as a safe haven, but gold continues to quietly outperform US equities.

Gold ETFs have seen $2.8 billion in outflows, with SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) accounting for most. Despite gold’s price dip from an all-time high, it still outperforms Bitcoin, up 28% YTD compared to Bitcoin’s 12% as of Monday.
