BlackRock launches a new synthetic S&P 500 ETF for French investors, the iShares S&P 500 Swap PEA UCITS ETF (SPEA), with a total expense ratio of 0.1%. SPEA tracks the S&P 500 Net TR Index in EUR, eligible for the French tax-advantaged PEA account, offering tax benefits on capital gains and dividends after five years. The ETF uses swap-based replication to maintain PEA compliance and does not pay withholding tax on dividends. This move follows BlackRock’s previous launch of a PEA-eligible synthetic MSCI World ETF. The iShares MSCI World Swap PEA UCITS ETF (WPEA) is also available with a 0.25% expense ratio, tracking the MSCI World Net TR Eur index.
