Brazilian businessman Nelson Tanure has hired Rothschild & Co. to negotiate bank deals crucial to his bid for Braskem. Tanure offered to buy Novonor’s stake in Braskem, prompting exclusive talks. He must negotiate with banks holding Braskem shares as collateral and with Petrobras, the second-largest shareholder. Tanure and Rothschild declined to comment. Tanure wants to keep Novonor as a minority shareholder and give Petrobras a larger role in Braskem.
