Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore introduces the Augmented Surveyor 3D (AGS 3D), an AI-powered inspection tool for ship and offshore structure inspections. The tool enhances anomaly detection and localisation, optimizing inspection processes. A successful pilot on an FPSO in West Africa with TotalEnergies led to consideration of expanding the technology to more assets. TotalEnergies praised the efficiency and safety benefits of AGS 3D, showcasing its commitment to innovative solutions.

AGS 3D automates anomaly detection, corrosion mapping, and 3D modeling, improving safety and efficiency. By processing data from drone surveys using AI, it automatically detects anomalies and maps them to a 3D model, reducing time and resources needed for data processing. Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore president highlights the tool’s capability in defect localisation, enhancing asset integrity management and inspection workflows.

The AGS 3D tool’s application spans various marine and offshore sectors, offering benefits like 360° visualization, optimized maintenance planning, and data-driven decision-making. It also provides a collaborative workspace for inspection teams and complements classification surveys. Survitec’s Seahaven evacuation system received formal Review Attestation from Bureau Veritas for its novel life-saving capabilities under IMO Resolution A.520(13), recognizing it as a safety evacuation solution for high-capacity passenger vessels.
