China's Geely appoints new chair of European business, replacing founder Eric Li

Geely Holding, owner of Volvo Cars, appoints Lone Fonss Schroder as new board chair at Geely Sweden Holding, replacing founder Eric Li. Li remains on the board and chair of Volvo Cars. Schroder, a Danish business veteran, has been active in Geely Sweden for six years and will collaborate closely with management as the group’s regionalisation grows. Geely has been focusing on strategic improvements, merging teams, restructuring brands, and making changes at Polestar. Schroder will step down from Volvo Cars board to join the nomination committee. Former Volvo Cars CEO Hakan Samuelsson returns to lead Volvo amid challenges.
