ConSensys acquires Web3Auth to enhance MetaMask user experience. The acquisition aims to address the risk of losing funds due to not backing up seed phrases. Integration of Web3Auth will allow users to recover wallets through traditional authentication methods like device-based and social logins. Multifactor user onboarding will also be implemented for safety.

ConSensys continues its streak of acquisitions in the crypto space. Recent acquisitions include security tool Wallet Guard and blockchain development platform Hal. In 2022, ConSensys acquired Ethereum wallet provider MyCrypto with plans to merge it with MetaMask. The company aims to expand its offerings and improve the security and user experience of its products.
