Corn futures are mixed, supported by wheat rally, ethanol production down, stocks increased

Corn futures are mixed, with July down ¼ cent and other contracts up 4 to 5 cents, supported by a rally in the wheat market. Ethanol production dropped by 11,000 barrels per day to 1.109 million barrels per day. Ethanol stocks increased by 386,000 barrels to 24.12 million barrels. Ethanol exports rose by 12,000 barrels per day to 163,000 bpd.

The markets will be closed on Thursday for Juneteenth, with Export Sales data expected on Friday. Traders anticipate 600,000 MT to 1.2 MMT in corn bookings for 2024/25. Jul 25 Corn is at $4.31 1/4, Nearby Cash at $4.08, Sep 25 Corn at $4.28 1/4, Dec 25 Corn at $4.43 1/2, and New Crop Cash at $4.01 1/2.
