Costco Wholesale’s corporate controller, Dan Hines, will retire after 35 years at the company. Tiffany Barbre, current VP, is promoted to senior VP and will replace Hines. Barbre, with a background in accounting, will receive a salary of $340,000 and other incentives in her new role.

The decision to promote from within is in line with Costco’s tradition of developing talent internally. Hines has been with the company since 1999, holding various financial positions before becoming controller in 2016. Barbre, who joined Costco 10 years ago, is set to take over Hines’ responsibilities.
