Goldman Sachs rates Coterra Energy as 'Overweight' despite shale challenges, JPMorgan raises price target.

Coterra Energy Inc. (CTRA) is rated as an ‘Overweight’ at Goldman Sachs despite facing challenges at its shale operations. JPMorgan reiterated an Overweight rating on June 25 and raised the price target to $34 from $32. The company is an independent exploration and production (E&P) company focusing on oil and natural gas in the US.

Complications with water production at Coterra’s Harkey Shale wells led to a pause in development. 11 out of 22 wells at the Windham Row project experienced unusually high water production. The company is working to address these issues across the affected wells to resume operations smoothly.
