Cotton Futures Mixed on Friday, with New Crop Cautious

Cotton prices had a mixed day, with July contracts closing at their lowest since April 7. New crop months were up due to challenging US weather conditions. WTI crude oil settled lower for July but higher for August amid Middle East concerns. The US dollar index weakened due to tariff and Middle East worries.
Weekly Export Sales data showed strong sales for both the 2024/25 and 2025/26 marketing years. Cotlook A Index was down 75 points at 77.75 on 6/19. ICE cotton stocks were unchanged with certified stocks at 62,332 bales. USDA’s Adjusted World Price was up 1 point at 54.03 cents/lb.
