In a recent incident in France, a 23-year-old man was kidnapped in a Paris suburb for his cryptocurrency holdings. The victim was held captive while the perpetrators demanded cash and access to his Ledger hardware wallet. Authorities have not made any arrests in the case as of Thursday.

This incident is part of a global trend of criminals targeting individuals for their crypto assets, with cases of kidnapping and torture reported in New York, India, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Spain. Jameson Lopp reported 232 physical attacks on crypto holders in the past 11 years, highlighting the dangers faced by those in the crypto community.
