UK distiller Cygnet Gin has named Vedran Milosevic, a former Diageo executive, as its new global managing director. Milosevic brings a decade of experience at Diageo, including a role as global commercial director for the luxury group unit. Cygnet’s chairman, Matteo Fantacchiotti, expressed confidence in Milosevic’s ability to lead the brand’s growth in the UK, US, and global luxury cities.
Nick Payne, the previous Cygnet managing director, has moved on to join Welsh brewer SA Brains Company. Fantacchiotti, who became chairman in December, invested in Cygnet and has high hopes for the brand’s future. Cygnet Gin is set to expand to US cities in the fourth quarter, with a focus on luxury cities in Europe and Asia.
Cygnet Gin, founded by singer Katharine Jenkins and artist Andrew Levitas, has gained listings at UK retailers Waitrose and Marks and Spencer. The company recently launched its Cygnet 77 gin variant in the UK, with plans to enter the on-trade at Hakkasan restaurant in London. Further expansion into Singapore and the US is in the works for Cygnet 77.
