Trump Media and Technology, DJT, filed an S-1 with the SEC to launch a publicly traded crypto investment product. This move marks the company’s expansion into the cryptocurrency space, with plans to create a Bitcoin treasury and offer investment products through Truth.Fi.

The Trump administration, led by President Donald Trump, has taken a friendly stance towards cryptocurrency. Trump appointed a crypto czar and a well-known crypto lawyer to key roles. Under his administration, investigations into Coinbase, Robinhood, and other crypto firms were dropped, reversing Biden-era clampdowns.

The newly formed Truth Social Bitcoin ETF, sponsored by Yorkville America Digital, will track the price of cryptocurrency. Crypto.com serves as the custodian and liquidity provider for the ETF. Trump Media, Crypto.com, and Yorkville America Digital announced a partnership to launch a series of exchange-traded funds in March.

NYSE Group submitted regulatory paperwork to list the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF, marking a significant step in its launch. The price of bitcoin, BTC-USD, has seen fluctuations over the past year, with a nearly 50% increase and subsequent dips. Trump Media stock fell nearly 2% on Thursday morning and is down 54% over the past year.
