Energy Transfer expands LNG supply with Chevron for Lake Charles LNG project

Energy Transfer has expanded its LNG supply agreement with Chevron to three million tonnes per annum. A 20-year incremental SPA for an additional 1mtpa has been signed. The deal includes fixed liquefaction charges and indexed components. Energy Transfer’s obligations are subject to a positive final investment decision. Lake Charles LNG is set to be a premier export facility with strategic infrastructure.
The recent SPA with Chevron is part of Energy Transfer’s commitment to secure long-term agreements for the Lake Charles LNG project. The company has also entered agreements with MidOcean Energy and Kyushu Electric Power Company. Lake Charles LNG will be constructed on an existing brownfield site with access to key production basins through the Trunkline pipeline system.
Chevron’s Global Gas president, Freeman Shaheen, highlighted the strength of Chevron’s global gas business with the expanded LNG agreement. Chevron aims to deliver affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy to meet global demand and customer needs. Energy Transfer and Chevron’s partnership underscores the rising global demand for long-term LNG supply.
