European Commission Fines Delivery Hero And Glovo EUR329 Mln For Cartel Practices
From Nasdaq: 2025-06-02 12:28:00
The European Commission fines Delivery Hero and Glovo a total of 329 million euros for cartel practices in the online food delivery sector. The companies agreed not to poach each other’s employees, exchanged sensitive information, and allocated markets, affecting the European Economic Area for four years. This reduces choices for consumers and business partners, limits employee opportunities, and stifles competition and innovation. Both companies admitted guilt and settled the case, marking the first labor market cartel decision by the Commission and the first sanction for anti-competitive use of a minority share in a competing business. Delivery Hero and Glovo are major food delivery companies in Europe, offering a variety of products through apps or websites. Delivery Hero acquired a minority stake in Glovo in 2018 and gained sole control in 2022.
