Fairmint proposes using Web3 tech to modernize private equity, targeting outdated infrastructure

Crypto-native companies are pushing for regulatory guidance on digital asset transactions. Fairmint submitted a proposal to the SEC Crypto Task Force, targeting outdated infrastructure in private securities administration. The global private equity market reached $5.3 trillion in 2023 and was expected to grow to $6 trillion by 2024.

The SEC Crypto Task Force is exploring regulatory pathways for traditional and digital assets. Robinhood plans to enable trading of US-listed stocks for Europeans on a blockchain network. Tokenization, including of private equity, is the company’s next focus, according to CEO Vladimir Tenev.
