Philippines-based Salmon Group secures $88m for expansion in Asia. Funding includes $60m from Nordic bond agreement and $28m in new equity. Investors include IFC, ADQ/Lunate, Northstar, Back in Black Capital. Co-founder aims to revolutionize banking in Southeast Asia with focus on AI technology and credit access.

Salmon Group, founded in 2022, acquires regulatory approval to control Rural Bank of Sta. Rosa in the Philippines. The firm holds SEC licenses for lending companies and focuses on a technology-driven, credit-focused banking model in Southeast Asia. AI technology powers consumer credit products like Salmon Credit and Cash Loans.

Last year, Salmon introduced a time savings deposit with an 8.88% rate in the Philippines. The fintech firm aims to transform banking in the region with innovative products and services. The $88m fundraise will support Salmon’s mission to revolutionize the banking industry in Southeast Asia.
