The US SEC has hired new staff with crypto experience, including Jamie Selway from Blockchain.com as director of trading and markets, and Brian Daly from Akin Gump as head of investment management. Lawmakers are considering the CLARITY Act to clarify SEC and CFTC authority over digital assets. The SEC withdrew proposed crypto-related rules. The SEC and CFTC are still understaffed, with vacancies in leadership roles. Former commissioner Brian Quintenz may chair the CFTC.
