Gilead's weekly oral HIV treatment program on hold, but shouldn't impact lenacapavir approval

RBC Capital reports that Gilead placed its weekly oral HIV treatment program 1720/4182 on clinical hold due to decreased CD4 and lymphocyte counts in some patients. The firm believes the hold is not insurmountable and will not likely affect lenacapavir’s upcoming approval for PrEP. RBC remains neutral on Gilead shares with a Sector Perform rating.
