General Motors is introducing the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X, a high-performance, hybrid variant of the iconic American sports car. The “hypercar” features a twin-turbo V-8 engine, with a top speed of 233 mph and 0-60 mph time of under two seconds. It includes electric axle technology for all-wheel drive and additional power.
The Corvette ZR1X is the most advanced model produced by GM, with 1,064 horsepower and 828 foot-pounds of torque. It combines performance, electrification, and all-wheel drive for an unparalleled driving experience. This addition expands the Corvette lineup to five models, part of GM’s profitable “Corvette family” strategy to cater to various price points.
GM has plans for an all-electric Corvette in the future, but the status remains unclear. Pricing for the ZR1X will be announced closer to its release later this year. It will be available as a convertible or coupe, paying homage to the classic 1963 Corvette with a rear split window. All Corvettes are manufactured at a GM facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
