Heidelberger Druckmaschinen (Heidelberg) has expanded its packaging portfolio with the introduction of the Cartonmaster CX 145, a large format sheet-fed offset press catering to the growing demand in the packaging industry, especially in long-run folding carton printing for various consumer goods.

The Cartonmaster CX 145, 105cm by 145cm in size, is based on the Roland Evolution 900 and will be integrated into Heidelberg’s digital ecosystem, offering compatibility with the Prinect workflow and third-party solutions for access to performance data through the Heidelberg Customer Portal.

Orders are now being accepted for the Cartonmaster CX 145, with the first installation planned for 2026 and a subsequent global rollout to meet anticipated demand in markets across North America, Europe, and China. Heidelberg aims to provide comprehensive support, including sales, installation, training, service, and consumables for the press.

Heidelberg CEO Jurgen Otto emphasizes the company’s commitment to being a full-range provider for folding carton printing, showcasing their system integration capabilities with the addition of the Cartonmaster CX 145 to their product lineup, bridging the capacity gap between existing Speedmaster presses and the Boardmaster.

Flint Group, a leading provider of printing and packaging inks and coatings, partnered with Heidelberg Japan KK in May 2024 for product distribution in Japan, further expanding Heidelberg’s reach in the global printing industry. The collaboration aims to enhance market presence and customer accessibility in the region.
