Hitachi Energy partners with Zhejiang Energy Group to enhance digital solutions for the group’s virtual power plant in China, integrating the platform into power system operations and local electricity markets. Hitachi provides consultancy for the VPP project, improving regulatory capabilities and balancing supply-demand dynamics with algorithm development and hardware support.

The upgrades support resource use in Zhejiang Province, where electricity consumption rose by 9.5% in 2024. The VPP platform offers peak load adjustment and frequency response, connecting over 200 user-side resources and aggregating energy forms. Digital control tech enhances dispatch efficiency and stabilizes grid operation against renewable energy fluctuations, improving resource utilization efficiency.
