Scott Galloway, known as an outspoken professor and entrepreneur, admits to past investment mistakes, like buying Netflix at $12 and selling at $10. Despite misses, he’s had big wins by betting on distressed assets. One successful trade involved buying FTX bankruptcy claims and profiting when crypto investments surged.
Galloway’s biggest return came from rescuing NJOY out of bankruptcy, turning a $2.5 million investment into $75 million. He also profited from a dying yellow pages company’s pivot to software. However, he acknowledges losses, like investing $5 million in a healthcare texting company that failed in 18 months.
Moving away from U.S. equities, Galloway cites high valuations and political instability. He believes the U.S. market will stagnate and plans to reduce his exposure over the next few months.
