JPMorgan names firm vet to lead international consumer bank

JPMorgan Chase appointed Mark O’Donovan as the new head of its international consumer bank, succeeding Sanoke Viswanathan. O’Donovan will oversee Chase’s U.K. arm, expand into Germany, manage the stake in Brazilian neobank C6, and lead Nutmeg and JPMorgan’s European investment arm.
Viswanathan, leaving JPMorgan after 15 years, will become CEO of FactSet. Under his leadership, JPMorgan expanded into the U.K., acquiring over 2.5 million customers. He praised the collaborative and disruptive culture at JPMorgan.
O’Donovan, with a 30-year career at JPMorgan, was the CFO of the commercial and investment bank. He will report to Marianne Lake in his new role in London. He played a key role in integrating First Republic after JPMorgan’s acquisition in 2023.
Bregje de Best will succeed O’Donovan as the CFO of JPMorgan’s corporate and investment bank, while James Roddy will lead the business as the sole head. Both de Best and Roddy have long-standing careers at the bank, with 19 and 26 years, respectively.
