KG Mobility, formerly SsangYong, plans to introduce seven new models by 2030 to strengthen its electrified vehicle line-up globally. The company’s chairman, Kwak Jae-sun, announced the ambitious product plans at the “KGM Forward” conference in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. KGM will expand SUV and MPV offerings, collaborating with global partners for extended-range electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Last year, KGM signed a strategic partnership with China’s Chery Automobile Company for platform licensing and technology sharing to enhance its electrified vehicle range. KGM is developing a new medium-to-large SUV range, SE10, in collaboration with Chery, scheduled for production next year. The company also plans to launch the KR10, a successor to the Korando SUV, a passenger minibus/MPV, and a cargo van range. In addition, KGM will introduce the Action Hybrid in the second half of this year. Kwak Jung-hyun, head of KGM’s Business Strategy Division, highlighted the growing demand in the domestic MPV market for family and leisure activities, noting the lack of accessible models for consumers. KGM aims to launch a new MPV to expand options in the minivan market.
