KIA joins with MGX, BlackRock, GIP, and Microsoft

The Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) has joined the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP) with MGX, BlackRock, GIP, and Microsoft. KIA is the first non-founder financial anchor investor, enhancing AIP’s global reach in accelerating investments in next-generation AI infrastructure. AIP aims to mobilize $30bn of equity capital, potentially reaching $100bn with debt financing.
KIA’s decades of investment experience position it to support AIP’s growth and global strategy. Managing director Sheikh Saoud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah highlighted KIA’s commitment to transformative global infrastructure that drives innovation and economic progress. AIP, established in September 2024, aims to mobilize significant capital from investors, asset owners, and corporations.
AIP has become a leading AI infrastructure platform, with technology partners NVIDIA, xAI, and Cisco joining. Agreements with GE Vernova and NextEra Energy will accelerate energy solutions for AI data centers. BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Partners chairman and CEO Bayo Ogunlesi welcomed KIA as a partner, aiming to enhance AI innovation and economic growth together.
