French payment institution Lemonway has acquired e-commerce payment solutions provider PayGreen for an undisclosed sum, aiming to expand its services in the e-commerce space. PayGreen, founded in 2016, specializes in restaurant, tourism, and leisure sectors, offering unique payment solutions including carbon emission calculation and charitable donations. Lemonway gains a transaction volume of €20m and access to the broader European market through the acquisition. PayGreen CEO Etienne Beaugrand sees it as an opportunity to accelerate development at the European level. Lemonway founder Antoine Orsini emphasizes the complementarity of the two businesses, enhancing their customer offering. Lemonway currently operates in 20 countries, serving over 400 platforms.
