Little Movement Seen For Malaysia Stock Market

The Malaysia stock market remained rangebound on Thursday, with the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index just above 1,510 points. Global markets were mixed, waiting for developments in the Iran/Israel conflict. On Wednesday, the KLCI edged 0.02% higher to close at 1,511.95, with mixed performances from financial, plantation, and telecom stocks. The Dow fell 0.10%, the NASDAQ rose 0.13%, and the S&P 500 eased 0.03%. The Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged, with expectations for two rate cuts this year. Jobless claims edged lower, while new residential construction in the US dropped in May. Crude oil prices rose as the Israel-Iran conflict continued, closing at $75.15 per barrel.
