Japanese Bitcoin treasury firm Metaplanet has become the fifth-largest corporate holder of Bitcoin after buying 1,005 BTC for $108 million, now totaling 13,350 BTC worth $1.45 billion. CleanSpark holds 12,502 BTC. Metaplanet issued $208 million in bonds to buy more Bitcoin, raising funds with 0% ordinary bonds.

Metaplanet plans to hold 100,000 BTC by 2026, aiming for 210,000 BTC by 2027, making it the second-largest corporate holder of the asset. The firm’s stock jumped 9% in Japan post-announcement. Strategy’s Michael Saylor hinted at more Bitcoin purchases, emphasizing continuous buying.
