Natural gas processing capacity to witness significant growth in Middle East

Natural gas processing capacity in the Middle East is increasing due to rising global energy demand, shift to cleaner energy sources, and abundant reserves. Saudi Arabia leads with 40% of the region’s capacity additions by 2030. Tanajib and Jafurah Phase II plants will contribute significantly to capacity.

Tanajib plant to add 2.6bcfd capacity by 2027, while Jafurah Phase II to add 2.0bcfd. Qatar follows with 4.6bcfd capacity additions by 2030 solely from Ras Laffan-NFE plant. UAE plans 2.4bcfd capacity additions with Bab Gas Cap plant contributing 1.9bcfd by 2030.
