Oil Spikes to Highest Levels Since April

Global benchmark Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate crude prices rose to $67.56 and $66 a barrel, respectively, reaching levels not seen since April. The spike may be due to optimism surrounding U.S.-China trade talks, but concerns remain about oversupply. OPEC+ is increasing production while demand growth forecasts are declining, leading to fears of lower energy demand. This combination of higher supply and lower demand could result in a drop in oil prices.
