Old Dominion Blames ‘Economic Softness’ for Revenue, Volume Slips

Old Dominion reported a 5.8% decrease in revenue per day in May, a slight improvement from the 6% drop in April due to the Trump administration’s tariffs. The trucking giant’s Q2 performance fell short of expectations, with LTL tons per day declining by 8.4% impacting total revenue.
Yellow Corp, a former competitor of Old Dominion, is liquidating and selling off more real estate. The trucking company filed a motion to sell four terminals for $6.8 million, including sites in Tennessee, Connecticut, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Yellow has sold over 190 terminals for more than $2.2 billion since beginning its liquidation in December 2023.
