Ozinga is building a low-carbon cement facility in Indiana, set to produce one million tons of low-carbon cementitious materials annually starting in 2026. The strategic location in East Chicago will serve US and Canada efficiently. The plant aims to create 150 jobs and support the regional economy, part of Ozinga’s goal for net-zero concrete by 2030. The facility will reduce reliance on imported cement and lower carbon emissions in construction materials. The project includes a state-of-the-art vertical roller mill for energy efficiency and minimal emissions. Ozinga partners with Meta and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for sustainable building materials, contributing to innovations like AI-driven low-carbon concrete. The demand for green concrete is rising, especially for critical infrastructure projects in North America.
