Perenti secures $707m gold mine contract in Burkina Faso

Perenti secures a $1.1bn contract to provide underground mining operations in Burkina Faso’s Mana complex. The five-year contract with SEMAFO Burkina Faso will include underground development, production, and related services starting June 2025. Perenti’s JV subsidiary, UMS, has been working at Mana since 2018.

The high-grade-gold Siou and Wona underground operations at the Mana complex in Burkina Faso will be the focus of Perenti’s new contract. Perenti’s president of contract mining, Gabrielle Iwanow, emphasizes the enduring relationship with Endeavour Mining and commitment to creating value in local communities.

Perenti’s partnership with Sandvik aims to develop advanced diesel-electric equipment for sustainable underground mining. The collaboration will leverage Perenti’s expertise through its subsidiary Barminco to enhance the performance of Sandvik’s underground diesel-electric loaders and trucks.
